Note: This is not a "start this issue and do the whole thing" issue. More of a placeholder to keep notes until we're ready for random maps, whenever that will be.

JimOfLeisure has done some prototyping, which was generating decent landmasses. I'm sure he can add more notes on this (and I can probably find them with some digging, too).
