Usage of CDTV Flash Memory Board

Open jojo-gfx opened this issue 1 year ago • 3 comments

Does anyone have the software to flash this board with the new rom? See, it was used for development also, so hopefully e.g. C4ptFuture could help me?

Thank you for your work! :)

Hi, yes there is an ADF floating around. I think this one should work:

https://ia802309.us.archive.org/view_archive.php?archive=/3/items/commodore-amiga-applications-adf/CDTV%20FlashROM%20v2.9%20-%20ROM%20v1.0%20beta%20%281991%29%28Commodore%29.zip

This was sent by Commodore to registered CDTV developers to update the Flash Memory board with new versions of the CDTV OS ROM as they were released for testing.

You just need to replace the file name ROMCode on this ADF with the 2.35/CDTV ROM image and then just boot from the floppy on your CD1000.

Note: make sure to disable any accelerators. The flash software fails to properly update the EEPROMS inside the Flash Memory board with some accelerators. Just run it with a 68000 active. After flashing you can put the accelerator back.

I will update the README soon with instructions, so it's easier to find for other owners of Flash Memory Boards.

Good luck with the flashing and let me know if you need any additional help.
