Feature Request: Add indicators for "Enhanced", "Adept" and "Holofoil" weapon states (similar to Masterwork and Crafted)
Hello Bungie!
Situation
With the release of Rite and upcoming EOF, we know that there will be more emphasis on Holofoils (and presumably Adepts like in Heresy). I'm stoked about this because the Rite holos are absolutely beautiful; I must have them.
Complications
- There are no definitions of what Enhanced, Adept and Holofoil weapons are, meaning it's up to each API consumer to determine this on their own (and the inconsistency across apps that will follow). Is it when an ornament is socketable? A separate item hash? Something else?
- When polling my community, there were several interpretations of what "Holofoil" meant. I believe it means shiny wrapper, irrespective of perks. Others believe it means both a shiny wrapper and multiple perks. Who's to say? 🤷♂ 😸
- Similarly, is a weapon "enhanced" at T1 or T3? My app determines "enhanced" by checking if any enhancement tier plug is socketed.
Question
Is it possible to indicate the following states in the manifest or profile response?
- Enhanced
- Adept
- Holofoil
If you'd like separate issues for each of these, @-me and I'm happy to do so!
Now back to trying to get Ultimatum Gold on Simmumah 😅
Please https://github.com/Bungie-net/api/issues/1662 🙏🏼
Would also like to see this, the only method that is semi consistent for holofoils is to check if it has a collectible hash against its non holofoil version of the same name
@aadam-bng Should I close this now that DestinyInventoryItemConstantsDefinition is a thing? Are these the sorts of things that might appear there?
You can leave this open! We're actively looking at adding support for this :)
@aadam-bng YAY!!! THANK YOU!
(for those following, present in the 2025-08-05 manifest)
