External IR Transmitter
Hi good day. Its not an issue. I just want to ask. I bought Lilygo t-embed cc1101 and i test the ir function but it only works on 1 to 2 meters away from the receiver. I plan to connect an ir module with 2 ir leds and when i tried to change the pins for the transmitter inside bruce firmware, it gives me gpio 44 and 43. Is it possible to use one of those gpios and use a uart module like gps simultaneously. Im just planning if its possible since im thinking that both ir and gps will become active and they will use the same gpio at the same time. Thank you.

The other port (Gpio 8/18) is used exclusively for I2C, it controls the RFID, Power and Fuel Gauge chips, thats why these pins qre not available to choose.

UART needs 2 pins (Rx and Tx).. you CAN use these pins f To drive your external IR, but NOT simultaneously with GPS...
I advise you to make JST connectors to your GPS and external IR, and attach them whenever you'll use it...
Idk which t-Embed color you have, but the black case obstructs the IR beam more than the transparent... So you lose a bit of power (range) in this process...
And as you want to use an external IR, make sure the LEDs are driven by a transistor switched by the gpio (not the LED directly to the gpio) l.. this way you can use the full LED power, not limited to GPIO output power
PS.: if you are using the t-Embed CC1101 Plus, remember that the NRF24 is connected to 43/44.. and it might interfere in the GPS module... And if you're to choose a GPIO for the IR, chose the NRF24 CE pin, which can lead to a jamming of some sort during its usage, but won't break the TFT and SD Card communication.
Hi sir. I have the lilygo t-embed cc1101 not the plus and its the transparent one. Im also planning to install nrf24l01 inside to it. Is the attack can be active simultaneously? I mean if the rf or gps is not active or when i didn't use them, i can use the external ir for that pin. The removable pins is not an option for me since i want to install the modules inside. Thank you so much sir.

Then you will need to add switches on the VCC line to turn off the GPS, NRF24 and your external module, because you cant active UART, SPI and IO devices sharing the same GPIO for data.
Bruce doesn´t have a feature where you use GPS+SubGhz or GPS+Infrared or GPS+NRF24 at the same time, but as I mentioned, the modules can't be active at the same time while sharing the same GPIO pins.
Last question sir sorry. Is those modules only active when i open them in the firmware? For instance, the nrf24l01 module will only active when i launch something in nrf24 menu, or the gps will only active when i launch it in gps menu. I can't see any free space on the case for me to install spdt switches. Thank you sir.
No, they are active in Idle state when not in use, waiting to be activated..
The NRF24 on the T-Embed is more critical, because the data pins (MISO, MOSI, SCK) are shared with tft, CC1101 and SDCard... When you drive the CS pin LOW, it activate the SPI communication on the NRF24, and it will mess up with TFT and SD Card if not sincronized...
GPS is always on, looking for positioning, and sending data on the ESP RX pin..
So if you want to pack them all in the case, you will need to add a switch in the 3.3V line, and print an extended back cover to accommodate everything
Thank you sir. That clear things up. All i need is add a switch to vcc for all external modules im gonna add to the board like si4713, and gps module right? And may i just confirm, the ir transmitter is connected via gpio1 right? So i can connect external ir transmitter to that pin? Thank you again sir.
