Waterfox 6.6 is messing with tab opening order [top tab bar]
What happened?
Copied from https://github.com/onemen/TabMixPlus/issues/484
With these settings (which i set based upon a tip given for the pref file previously posted to https://github.com/onemen/TabMixPlus/issues/456)
browsing on this forum list https://www.snbforums.com/forums/asuswrt-merlin.42/
i opened Extreme Hack That Got Much Worse After Reflashing and then PSA - RT-AC68U with CTF/NAT Acceleration may allow UDP traffic through firewall
in that order, expecting the tab list to now be
Asuswrt-Merlin | SNBForums Extreme Hack That Got Much Worse After Reflashing | SNBForums PSA - RT-AC68U with CTF/NAT Acceleration may allow UDP traffic through firewall | SNBForums
What i ended up with is Asuswrt-Merlin | SNBForums PSA - RT-AC68U with CTF/NAT Acceleration may allow UDP traffic through firewall | SNBForums Extreme Hack That Got Much Worse After Reflashing | SNBForums
Enabling the "Only if related to current tab" option makes it work how it was previously, but then i get the issue from #456 again.
Reproducible?
- [x] I have checked that this issue cannot be reproduced on Mozilla Firefox.
Version
6.6.3
What platform are you seeing the problem on?
Windows
Caused by 6.6's contreversial, unable to be disabled addition of a tree style addon that nobody asked for.
seems that change all "auto-organizing of tabs tree" in "tree vertical tabs" to (no control) may resolve this problem.
Yes, but these tab tree settings shouldn't be affecting the classic tab bar in the first place.
the defaults work so long as the first setting is either "child or the parent tab, next to most recently opened child", "Last child of the parent tab" or "Do nothing"
For the classic tab bar, "Do nothing" should be implicit."
Also the changed setting resets on new starts. ugh.
Okay, I've been trying to drill into this issue:

Does that behaviour look correct? The settings do change in about:preferences#tree, but that is because tree tabs will read the prefs eventually and then 'sync' its own preferences to match. What should happen though is that it should no longer interfere. I'm not sure tree tabs can be enabled and used with TMP at the same time though, but I'm hoping this is what the resolution of the issue is expected to be?
thats how i expect the settings to work yes.
i do not have tree style tabs enabled btw, but their settings affected the classic tab bar, and the behavior settings resets between starts of the browser.
6.6.5.1 is now out, please give it a try.
Since TMP toggles built-in prefs, it will get reflected in the tree vertical tabs prefs, since they listen to the same prefs, but it should no longer affect the tab behaviour since it's now disabled by default.
