Add Custom URLs to New Tabs Dropdown in Home Settings

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. I dislike having to install the New Tab Override extension just to get a homepage loading when opening a new tab.

Describe the solution you'd like 1 - Consider adding a Custom URL... option to the Settings > Home > New Windows and Tabs > New tabs drop-down. 2 - Also consider adding a Current Homepage option to that same drop-down. This option would pull the URL appearing in the Homepage and new windows field. Or, perhaps, it can be made to pull any URL from the delimited list if the user has multiple homepages.

Describe alternatives you've considered As above. I'm already using the New Tab Override extension to accomplish this, but it really seems unnecessary when this functionality could have been built-in from the start. Besides, the extension doesn't allow for choosing a URL from the delimited list as this might if approved and implemented.

It is absolutely shocking to me that this isn't already an option. I was setting my parents' computer up with Waterfox right now, since they just got the notice that uBlock Origin will stop working on Chrome and Firefox is doing...what they've been doing lately. But the very first thing my mum complained about was the inability to see her Google apps. No problem, I think, I'll switch the home page to Google for her so the "𓃑" icon is in the top right like she's used to. It works fine...until she uses the "new tab" button, with no way to fix that. I don't want to install an extension and potentially increase the attack surface of the browser just to get such incredibly basic functionality.

Actually this is a setting in Waterfox! Just not in the GUI (yet).

You can now set any URL as the new tab page by setting the browser.newtab.url preference in about:config Please note, if using a root domain, make sure to append a trailing slash /; otherwise, the address bar will be focused when opening a new tab. ↩

Forgive me, but would this not normally be the desired behaviour?

And, I should note, when I tested this just now, that does indeed seem to be the experienced behaviour as well. I tried setting this page (github.com/ BrowserWorks / Waterfox / issues / 3661) as my new tab page. And I tried this page again, but with a trailing slash. In both cases, the address bar was focused when creating a new tab.
