autocomplete / dom.forms.autocomplete.formautofill not working or inconsistent behavior

What happened?

Using the latest version of Waterfox Current (G 6.0.6) submitting HTML forms with normal input elements and a type="submit" (not via JavaScript) the data in the named forms should be remembered. The second time filling out the form double-clicking or pressing the down arrow should show the autocomplete menu, it does not.

I ventured in to about:config looking for the most relevant setting which appears to be dom.forms.autocomplete.formautofill. I enabled it, reloaded the page with the form, tested it and nothing. I restarted the browser, manually reloaded the page, tested it and nothing.

Then I redid the test and it worked for some reason. Restarted the browser and the feature works however dom.forms.autocomplete.formautofill is set to false. WTH?!

Autocomplete works just fine in Firefox 115 ESR. I barely only test the baby-burp versions to determine the version detection works since they're pointless.
