Temporary Containers extension's Automatic Mode not working in Waterfox

Open zeromind opened this issue 3 years ago • 1 comments

What happened?

Hi,

the Automatic Mode of the Temporary Containers extensions does not work with Waterfox. Using that feature, the extension would automacally re-open new tabs in temporary containers, either instantly when opening a new tab, or only when actually navigating to an URL.

This works in both Firefox (112.0) and Firefox ESR (102.10), but not in Waterfox (G5.1.5). Was not sure what to select for "Reproducible?" when opening this ticket via the template, whether a checked box means "Yes, I've tested it on Firefox, and it's reproducible there", or "No, I've tested it on Firefox, it's not reproducible there".

Steps to reproduce:

  • Create new profile
  • Install extension: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/temporary-containers/
  • Enable Automatic Mode in the extension preferences > General
  • Open new tab with Ctrl+T

Actual result:

  • newly created tab is not in a container Expected result:
  • newly created tab is being re-opened/moved to a temporary container tmp1

Could you please make the extension's automatic mode work?

Thanks

Reproducible?

  • [ ] I have tested this on Firefox.

I was trying out Waterfox 6.5.5 (64-bit) on Linux today, and unfortunately this is still an issue. It works as expected on Firefox Nightly 138.0a1 (2025-03-15) (64-bit) and Librewolf 136.0.1-1

Am also experiencing this issue, but for me it is not working on Librewolf
