Waterfox 5.1.3 -- Download toolbar indicator broken

Open Objectivite opened this issue 2 years ago • 16 comments

What happened?

Hello,

Since upgrading to 5.1.3 I can never monitor downloads - as the indicator does not work - it does not show you the progress of the download, and when it has finished downloading, if you click on it always tells you that there have not been any downloads ("No downloads for this session") !!

Show All Downloads also does not work.

It was working in 5.1.2.

O.

Reproducible?

  • [X] I have tested this on Firefox.

Version

G5

What platform are you seeing the problem on?

I ended up in a similar boat, I started the same download maybe ten times from google drive wondering what was happening until I saw the taskbar icon for waterfox lit up with a progress indicator. The downloads window itself is empty like you said.

I confirm it.

As of today, it's working again. No reboot or anything in the meantime, not sure what changed.

Currently have WF 5.1.9 on Windows 11.

Both .8 & .9 have had this same bug and I have no idea how to fix it.

I believe it's an issue with browser.tabs.selectedTabPrivate. What value does this pref have for you all?

I'd expect it to be true if it's showing no downloads for you.

I've kind of remember reading about that and vaguely recall changing it. There you go. It was already set to TRUE

A while ago I had this problem suddenly resolve itself.

My download list was broken (empty), browser.tabs.selectedTabPrivate is set to True,

I changed it to False and my download list working again for now. Waterfox 6.0.2

A while ago I had this problem suddenly resolve itself.

Recently updated to G6.0.3 (64-bit)... Count me in for "suddenly resolve itself" as well.

Had this happen to me on G6.0.18 (64-bit) recently. No idea what actually triggered it, but updating the selectedTabPrivate setting and then restarting the browser did resolve the issue.
