Spotify not working on G4.0.4
What happened?
Spotify on the web doesn't work in Waterfox G4.0.4 (64-bit). It will skip songs and sometimes play the 9 first seconds of a song before stopping. The issue seems to be related to DRM.

@devstra - there have been reports of G4.0.4 being slow to update Widevine, which had caused issues with DRM content in the previous release. Would you be able to do the below and report back:
- Go to about:plugins and find your Widevine version
If it's less than
4.10.2391.0then: - Go to about:addons
- Head to the "Plugins" section
- Click the cog and "Check for Updates"
- Update Widevine
Thanks for taking the time to help @adamp01! I've checked my Widevine version as you suggested and I am indeed using the latest version (4.10.2391.0) as of this writing. I tried using Spotify again but I just get the same issue. Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help.
@devstra, sadly Spotify has had issues with Waterfox going back a few years. I never was able to figure out why it has the strange errors that it does. Even a user agent override doesn't seem to work.
I'm having an issue that is similar My Spotify volume gets effected, when its running I can barely hear my music, and when I closer it, my sound goes back to normal;
@MrAlex94 do you know when the Spotify issues started? i found some Reddit posts about it from nearly 2 years ago, though i'm not sure if there are any older reports

I has been a while, but I think it might be DRM related. We get a "light" version of DRM, not the fully fledged one (would need a contract with Google for that), so Spotify might not be happy with it.
ah, I see
I've noticed comparable issues with Prime Video after checking for Widevine updates. It only plays a lower-resolution version and gives the following message:

Did anybody find a solution for this kind of issue?
