Is this an issue with my formatting or is this just not allowed? If not, what should be used instead of \periph?

Thanks for bringing this up @OEOCV. To add to what @kavitharaju said, we have not had this requirement until now. But this is good to know that there is a need for it and we can put it down on our roadmap.
