Side panel with outline and file structure

TexitEasy is a great piece of software I just discovered. It however lacks some features to be perfect.

It would be really good if there was a panel on the left side of the window. It would be used to display:

  • the outline of the document,
  • the file structure of the document.

Document outline

Have a look on Texpad:

As you can see, there is all section level with an icon. It should take into account the whole project, hence the if there is parts of the document that are included with \input or \include, the headings of the included files should be displayed in the tree. Apart from the heading, figures, tables, listings, etc. should appear. In fact, everything that has a title should appear in the tree (except maybe \items of description environments).

File structure

It is a bit different. It should display the file tree of the document.

Hi thanks for the suggestion. Currently, we can access the other file of our project by clicking on the little triangle on the left of the filename in the tabs. Also, the document outline is available in the status bar (in the right) Off course it is not as good as what you proposed (for instance it does not take the whole project into account).

A left panel with a lots of information is something I want to do but It is a lot of work.

I keep this issue open for when I will time to start this, or if someone wants to do it :)
