Gaussian Process Assumption on Lorenz Attractor dataset

I have a question on the Lorenz Attractor dataset. You made Gaussian assumption for the latent space (essentially the 3d Lorenz Attractor). How could you tell the recovered Lorenz Attractor signals do reflect the Gaussian assumptions?
