I am not able to click enter to get past the optional parameter which is step 6 of the 7 step connection process.

without more details, hard to say - there's probably a connection issue with either incorrect credentials or there might be something configured on the server side to prevent the connection - typically this is an issue with pg_hba.conf and not an issue with the plugin
