Allow roles to own objects
Describe the feature you'd like
I want to be able to assign ownership of a shelf/book/chapter/page to a group of people. Easiest way seems to be to just give ownership to an entire role.
Describe the benefits this would bring to existing BookStack users
Often times in large organizations, a multiple people can be responsible for a section of documentation. They need to be able to fully edit and manage permissions for their content, but should not be allowed to mess with anyone else's content.
Can the goal of this request already be achieved via other means?
Not quite.
In the settings > edit roles area, we can allow people to manage permissions on their own assets or have them be able to manage permissions for all assets
But as far as I can tell there is no way to override this like you can with access permissions. IE
For instance, I want anyone with the IT role to be allowed to manage permissions for the IT Shelf and all content created within that shelf.
Have you searched for an existing open/closed issue?
- [X] I have searched for existing issues and none cover my fundamental request
How long have you been using BookStack?
