Question: why we use "build_message_key" instead of "message_id"

Is there any particular reason why do we store results in backend and building every time message key with expensive hashlib.md5(message_key.encode("utf-8")).hexdigest() instead of storing and retrieving results using generated uuid (message.py:53) ?
