[Suggestion]Configurable trades for Barakoa
The trades for the Barakoa are rather lacking. A Json list of trades and the ability to customize these would be wonderful for adding some more depth to their gameplay uses and fleshing out their culture in the game. If at all possible, I would love to have this in the last bugfix update for 1.12.2!
If you're interested, I recommend you take a look at Netherex, as that mod has customizable trades for all of its villagers through jsons.
To add onto this: user defined item for receiving the Sun's Blessing from Barako would be lovely, just modname:itemname in config
I’d love to have this as well, but couldn’t think of a system for it. I’ll see what I can do. I’m also open to changing up the built-in trades. Feel free to submit a pull request with new trades or just write them here.
Sorry, I never got notifications for this one! A few quick ideas for built-in trades:
Acacia sapling, potion of poison, potion of strength, seeds, maybe a crafting component used to make one of the barakoa tribesman masks (expensive recipe overall, though), blowdart and blowgun if not already a trade (it's been a while since I checked)
The masks are intentionally only obtained through killing them. Blow darts, blow guns, and spears are only obtainable through trades already. Are you sure the trades are lacking? There are several totally unique items you can get from them that I'm gathering you didn't know about.
I admit I didn't remember which of the Barakoa-related items were trade only, but ultimately it's not so much a lack of value with existing trades as a lack of flexibility. With a normal village career, trades can be updated by the user or modpack dev to include 1,000 different trades if need be; here, the trades would only be limited to what you have specified no matter what.
