iMessage authentication doom loop
Around 3PM America Central Daylight Time, iMessage on my server mac, 2017 iMac running Ventura, quit and reopened asking to log in. After entering my Apple ID credentials, iMessage loads, waits 10 seconds then respawns asking to log in again.
That machine would not let me disable SIP, so moved it to e 2014 mini running Monterey that had SIP disabled. The same thing is occurring there.
There are no Debug log entries when this happens even with the Show Messages App Log checked.
I have included the main.log
Having same exact behavior on a VM that was reliably running BB on Catalina for years. I added a new Apple device to my account and that triggered some iMessage protection on Apple's end where my account got tagged for SPAM and all my Apple devices got logged out of iMessage and refused to log back in. Had to ask Apple support to remove that block, which they did and got all my actual Apple branded devices to work (multiple iPhones, Mac desktops, iPads), but the VM is still doing this authentication loop thing where I enter the credentials, the iMessage window appears, and it disappears and I am prompted for credentials again a few seconds later.
I too had to write Apple to unlock iMessage, and FaceTime. Though the timing is interesting since it was just after the iOS 26 RC. It also affected HomeKit. Apple changed something on the back end. With no messages in any of the logs it is hard to track down. My server was running on official, yet older, Apple hardware.
now I understand why I got locked out of my apple account. I was using beeper and got stuck in the doom loop them locked out. Thanks for posting
