I'm sure this is just an "Apple" issue. Like they load the preview data when the user pastes into the iMessage app, then sends that with the send message payload. Before, they loaded that on the receiving end when the link was received. At least that's my guess. That said, I’m not sure what we can do about it, unless we do something with the Private API
