Change focus creates new message with attachment

Android current version. Samsung Fold. Most times when I change focus to the blue bubbles app it doesn't go to the thread list and instead goes to the create new chat and attaches the last thing I sent previously. It could be a url pasted or attached pic I sent to someone. Force close does not solve it and it's persistent. Can't delete the attachment. Just comes back as if I did an intent from somewhere else again.
