[Suggestion] Fuse Cord/Detonator/Detonation Machine
Purpose The purpose of the suggested fuse cord and associated detonator and Detonation Machine is to reliably time and trigger large numbers of explosive devices in a similar manner to IndustrialCraft 2's dynamite. A similar effect can be achieved using the existing redstone wire, but this requires the connector to be against a block adjacent to each placed explosive to avoid the connection being severed, and can become expensive if used for large amounts of mining.
Application The fuse cord or wire would be crafted as a cheap version of copper wire that does not have to sustain any current, so uses only one half or one quarter the required copper wire to craft. This wire is not compatible with power connectors, but would be connectable to detonators and detonation machines. The Detonation Machine (or Detonation Dynamo for clarity) is the standard T-plunger used to provide current to wired detonators in the real world, and is crafted using treated sticks, treated wood, a light engineering component, and a copper coil block. The detonator acts similar to a cable connector and can be used to extend the reach of the fuse cord or wire as one would use a relay, or placed against an explosive, such as a barrel of gunpowder, and triggers the explosive upon the detonation machine being activated by a player or a redstone signal. It is crafted in sets of four to sixteen using a treated stick or plank, a slimeball, and gunpowder.
Uses This system would allow better timing of explosives for mining or demolition, and for less expensive triggering of large amounts of explosives that span long distances.
Alternate recipe idea, use the existing generator add 1 treated Stick und an iron bar for the pushrod and a gear of any type to be turned from the pushrod
Mindforger, as to which generator are you referring to?
dynamo ... my fault :D
That's not a bad idea. Looking back, I would have suggested a dynamo in place of the coil block in the recipe.
I believe Vazkii added placeable gunpowder to Quark now, no? That works as a cheaper alternative to blowing up your redstone dust :v
A hemp+gunpowder fuse that places like redstone wire? Or like IE wires. Even already got the "wire up in flames" animation. Don't know how to attach that, though.
