identical to all the other purple screen of death bugs. Can we merge them all please?

This is a crash. It did not cause a purple screen.

I took another stab at fixing these kinds of problems today. Fixed several dozen more crashes and structural problems that arise when the graphics device is reset. I believe they will still happen, but they should be much more rare than they were yesterday even.

Some non-crash problems you may see now (where the game might have otherwise crashed)

  • Some instances of missing or corrupt artwork.
  • The screen flashing purple
  • The minimap flashing on and off.

However I hope you can agree that's better than crashing.
