that little icon on the nav bar should be square when square avatars option in on too like this:

Sorry for the late response.

In my opinion, a square avatar looks off at that location, the "tweet" button would need to be "unrounded" as well, like in your image. (and possibly the search box and all other buttons too).

The look I'm mainly aiming for is the one you can still see at i/directory

I may add an option for squared buttons at some point in the future, if that is something you're interested in instead I can rename this issue accordingly.
