Add `Persona's` from the Bitcoin UX Research by Patricia Estevao into `Getting to know your users`
@pavlenex nice, I wasn't aware she had even posted her research results on the web (was only aware of the repo).
Ideally, we could integrate her results more closely into the guide. A good starting point could be to identify key quotes from each persona and insert them into relevant pages. Also, the Getting to know your users page is currently relying on a made-up persona, maybe this could be refreshed with a persona Patricia identified?

Looking at what we have atm, and how we might approach the navigation re-structure, I think I may close this issue if we decide to add Personas and User Journeys sections as a part of the User research section. Thoughts?
Link to research published on her site btw: https://patestevao.com/work/bitcoin-ux-research/
I'd like to do this one as a first issue.
This is my work in progress that may help you @Mogashni https://www.figma.com/file/znxW3KaKZXRAfO4RPAZ3h9/Bitcoin-UX-Persona?node-id=0%3A1, but feel free to use your own visuals, this is just me trying to cut down on text and visualise it.
@paulosacramento Just wanted to check in with you if this is something you will be working on?
Hi @mouxdesign . I intend to but I haven't started yet. I think we could also work together. Do you have any ideas?
@paulosacramento Pavlenex has already made a bit of a start on putting all the info into a figma file. Some ideas:
- What aspects of a user persona is valuable during the product development process
- Try to extract those parts from the research
- See if we can find any unique insights by both reading through the persona section that we can highlight when we present the findings
- Present them in a nice visual way that can then be added to the design guide
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
During the UX research call #4 we we brainstormed in Figma on how to add user personas to the bitcoin design guide. I've created a draft write up based on this discussion. We discussed what aspects of the user personas would be valuable during the dev process. We also created some questions which we could ask users to build the personas from scratch.
Link to googledoc here, please feel free to comment/suggest based on the content included as well as any sections that could be added.
Further worked on this write up for the bitcoin design guide and would appreciate a review on it. Started with a basic introduction to persona's and then went through Patricia's research and captured the main points from her persona's.
Idea would be to place the individual persona's like this in the guide. (Mockup provided by Christoph)

@pavlenex would appreciate a review.
@mouxdesign Done. There's a lot of general text there, we should strive to be concise and make sure the information people want is present and focal. I would avoid general writings about what users personas are, how we make them, that's now what people want, whoever lands here, probably knows what a persona is , they just want to see which bitcoin personas exist.
Great idea on illustrating them, but let's not have too much text.
Gotcha! Thanks for the super quick review Pav. Will leave the how to create a persona in the UX Research toolkit and keep this one on the persona's themselves with a light intro.
Continued to work on this with the feedback from Pav and Christoph. Would appreciate another review on the Googledoc.
Things added in:
- Links to user journeys of Patricia
- Link to how to use Personas
@pavlenex
@mouxdesign I left some minor typographical notes on the document. Basically, LGTM.
I think we should discuss how we want to approach the super-wide images under the Imgur links on mobile. I'm not sure how well they're going to work on the site. Similar to with the Blixt case study, there's a lot of text here that's completely inaccessible to screen readers and search engines. They are also a little awkwardly long for mobile.
I started experimenting with some other layouts here. Would if we presented them as these more modular blocks that could stack for mobile? 🎨 Mock up here.
One thing we lose with that is the nice little emotion chart that goes up and down between columns.
I can definitely implement the charts from the Imgur links in HTML/CSS as they stand now, but if so, I think we would need to make it scroll horizontally, sort of like the image carousels on the Guide.
Just left a few comments in the doc. I think it would be good to provide info or resources for people on how to create their own personas.
@sbddesign thanks for experimenting with those design layouts for showing the user journey map. (Commented in the Figma file)
@GBKS Also thank you for your comments on the Googledoc. Will continue working on it and ping for another review once re-worked.
@GBKS @sbddesign I've made some changes to the write up based on your feedback,
The following has been included:
- How to create a user persona (added to bottom of the file)
- A bitcoin wallet solution for the persona Peter (using the persona design a wallet for Peter). Added in a graphic here and tried to keep the layout ore vertical for mobile. Felt that the write up itself is a bit text heavy so thought it might be a good idea to add in another visual at the bottom.
