I'm experiencing the problem below on Mac OS 10.13.6:

Run BitcoinABC-Qt

Alert Box: Corrupted block database detected. Do you want to rebuild the block database now?

Yes

Alert Box: Error opening block database

Without more info, it's really hard to help you here. But from the sound of it, it could be a permissions issue.
