[Bug]: Windows all move to current virtual desktop when connected monitors change

Summary

I run Bismuth on a laptop and occasionally connected to an external monitor as well, via HDMI port or docking station.

When I move from a multi monitor setup to just the laptop screen, or vice-versa, all windows from all of my virtual desktops get moved to the current VD. I have to manually shift them back, which is a real pain.

Steps to Reproduce

open window on virtual desktop open another on another virtual desktop

plug in or unplug a monitor

when the screens redraw all, both windows will be on the current active desktop.

Expected behavior

Windows should stay assigned to their existing desktops across the monitor change.
