Scanning QR code from MetaMask on ERC20 address

What happened:

When using the LightWallet to scan the QR code i.e from MetaMask to send Tokens to EVM it prefixes the address with ethereum:. This is quite annoying as one has to remove it to get a valid address.

Maybe this could be used to check if it is a correct address but then remove the prefix?

What you expected to happen:

Address should be without the ethereum: prefix

How to reproduce it (as minimally and precisely as possible):

Scan QR code from MetaMask address
