Incorporation of other standards?

I am involved in MIxS which has developed many packages over the years for different sample types and beyond.

For example for soil: https://genomicsstandardsconsortium.github.io/mixs/soil/index.html (the GitHub website is still buggy).

What are the thoughts in biosample about incorporating existing standards that are also used by NCBI/EBI? and to what extend is this possible?

@jjkoehorst , a proposal for hammering out the BioSample type and profile was submitted for European Biohackathon 2023. If approved, this event would be perfect for sorting out properties from other standards that can be mapped or incorporated. Hopefully we'll have updates on the proposal within a month or two.
