None of the current tutorials explain how to get your site listed on the live deploy page.

We need a new tutorial for that! But... to be honest I do not know what the process is. @AlasdairGray if you are too busy these days, give some text to work with and I will create a first draft but I cannot do this tutorial on my own, I do not have enough info to do so
