Update Gene, Protein, SequenceRange, and SequenceAnnotation types to match latest profile

Open AlasdairGray opened this issue 3 years ago • 2 comments

The types on the website do not reflect the contents of the profiles:

  • Gene 1.1-DRAFT
  • Protein 0.12-DRAFT
  • SequenceAnnotation 0.7-DRAFT
  • SequenceRange 0.1-DRAFT

Relevant discussions were held in #468:

  • Add property to BioChemEntity https://github.com/BioSchemas/specifications/issues/468#issuecomment-864849625 and https://github.com/BioSchemas/specifications/issues/468#issuecomment-871418799
  • Properties incorrectly attributed https://github.com/BioSchemas/specifications/issues/468#issuecomment-871418074

https://github.com/BioSchemas/specifications/issues/468#issuecomment-872280919 gives details of the commit with the approach for types that was being developed in the other branch.

@AlasdairGray is there a guideline (even if informal one) on how to update types? Maybe someone else could help here. As it was decided on a community call that the property should be added at BioChemEntity level, only one type needs to be updated. Question is, do we need to create a draft type for all those inheriting from BioChemEntity?

@AlasdairGray also, what are the implications of new type drafts (that eventually should go to a release)? Types are included in schema.org, what would be the process to update types in the pending area?
