Is your feature/tool request related to a problem? Please describe.

When performing certain types of maintenance on a production portal, it may be necessary to prevent other portal users from actively creating or updating records. An example scenario is when a DB Schema change needs to be applied and it will take some time (Several hours in the case of some portals) to complete the changes.

Describe the solution you'd like.

Allow a super user to put the portal into maintenance mode. This would:

• Create a message that appears in the header of all portal visitors stating that the portal is currently being maintained and that record creation and updates are currently disabled.
• block all DB write activity not associated with the active maitenance task
