Some users might appreciate a code example for discovering the paths to files in this package. I had to google around a bit to find out.

Thanks for this, I agree some clarification would be useful here.

The intention of this package is to be Julia-independent though - hence why is is not formatted as a Julia package.

The recommended way to access these files from Julia is using the interface in BioCore.jl (code at https://github.com/BioJulia/BioCore.jl/blob/master/src/Testing.jl).
