Features from other themes that inspire
I am testing out: https://github.com/kevinbazira/algori-blogger
I found it interesting to see the first section in the customizer was the docs:

I will add on to this issue with various features that I find interesting.
I have for a couple of months on occasion been giving feedback to Ben at Kadence Themes https://www.kadencethemes.com/wordpress-themes/ in regards to my testing of the theme Ascend. I just have a good feeling about the theme. I have a feeling that he knows what he is doing.
Here is a way they handle the footer settings:

What I find interesting is that here the user can define the footer widget areas along with the copyright area.
Menu locations. Ascend theme also has 5 menu locations giving the user some very good options in relation to where to add a menu.

I like having the option to add a menu in various locations. Sometimes one needs a specific menu in the top bar/preheader. Sometimes one needs a secondary menu below the primary menu. One might also need a menu in the footer. There is also a specific mobile menu that opens like a right sidebar.
From the theme Neve: https://wordpress.org/themes/neve/

Why I find it interesting: Here one can define the Sidebar layout. Options: None, sidebar left or sidebar right.
Another feature:

Why I find it interesting: One can choose from 3 blog layouts. Post pagination as well as ordering post content order and visibility. There is something similar for the Single Post Layout.
Docs code: I would suggest to have docs to show how something similar can be done. As in customization of the blog page and showing/hiding moving post meta around. Then create a child theme with another kind of blog layout as well as moving post meta around to give an in use demonstration.
