Artwork Corrupts File

Open jjonesfec opened this issue 10 years ago • 6 comments

Adding artwork to my mp3 files corrupts them such that they no longer play properly. The problem appears for but gif and jpg files.

I'm running Tagger 1.8.0.7 (566) on a Mac with OS X Yosemite v 10.10.1

Ahhhh! It killed 2 CDs and I have no backup!!! I only added a PNG, now they're beyond repair.

Are they mp3s? run mp3val -f *.mp3 to fix them.

Thanks for this fix, @Bilalh! I too have had many folders of MP3s corrupted by Tagger. Sometimes it seems that the artwork corrupts the files, other times it seems that the text-only tags corrupt them.

As the file corruption is caused by Tagger, what are the chances that this will be fixed?

I also have had MP3s corrupted by Tagger. I mistakenly thought this bug was fixed and recently added artwork to some MP3s; Tagger corrupted about half of them. I've been using Tagger for a while now and for the most part it's great, but this artwork corruption bug is bad. I recommend you remove the feature to add or change artwork until you can fix the bug.
