After thumbnail/icon list update, shift-arrows does not extend selection

SUMMARY

After the thumbnail/icon list is updated (because of a deleted or a moved file), hitting shift-right does not extend the selection. In fact, keeping the shift key down and pressing left and right just moves between images. In order to extend selection of images, one needs to first move between images using the arrow keys without the shift key. Only then does the shift key start extending the selection again.
