Hotkey for Sound Output switch not working after every Sleep/Hibernate/Boot
What happened?
Dear @Belphemur ,
I had a previous issue about this a while back, but it seems to be closed, yet not fixed. Whenever my computer comes out of Sleep or Hibernate, or it boots, SoundSwitch is there, but the Ctrl+Alt+F11 shortcut to swap sound output is not working (haven't tried the other shortcuts, as i dont have the devices).
Anyway, i figured out that if i just open the settings, uncheck the checkbox "Hotkey Enabled", then check the box again and Close the settings: The hotkey works again. But I have to do this action after every Log-In. Once i did the the trick above it works perfectly, until the next time I log in.
I love this app, and is is an unmissable tool for anyone with multiple audio devices ! Keep up the good work, hope you find what is causing this issue.
Kind regards
Step to reproduce
Log In Use Hotkey Watch as nothing happens..
Open SoundSwitch Settings Toggle "Hotkey Enabled" off and on Close settings profit: Hotkey works again !
Version
6.5.4.0
What version of Windows are you seeing the problem on?

Can't seem to find a log file to add, if you can point me in the right direction I gladly add it!
Hello,
I tried everything to fix this problem. Only a small subset of users are impacted. Right now, when SoundSwitch detect the computer is back from hibernation, it will re-register all the hotkeys.
Can you try to see if changing the hotkey for a different combination fixes the issue ?
Hey,
Came out of hybernation, hotkey not working. I just tried toggling the "Hotket Enabled" on Recording Devices (which is Ctrl+Alt+F7), instead of Playback devices, then closing the settings window. Seems to have the same effect ! My hotkey (Ctrl+Alt+F11) suddenly works again. I have, before, also tried a different hotkey to switch my Playback device, but it has the same issue as the default Hotkey.
Also just noticed a little bug:
Right now, just one Playback device connected: Speakers (Headphones disconnected)
My HDMI screen however shows to have speakers to the PC, but doesn't actually have any.
So it looks like this:
But the Notification Icon always displays the screen instead of the Speakers (Top right icon)
No clue why, screen isn't even enabled as a playback device. My actual playback device IS the seakers.
Note: If i connect my headphones, and re-anable the hotkey, the Notification Icon does then Swap between speakers and headphones as i hit the hotkey..
I have the same issue, can we help somehow?
I have the same issue on SoundSwitch Stable v6.7.2.0. Windows 11. I use hibernation. Not sure if I have the issue every time I come back from hibernation, but when I do notice the issue, I just open the SoundSwitch settings and uncheck/check the "Hotkey enabled" and the hotkey works again.
I have now enabled Telemetry option.
I will let you know next time I experience the issue.
Hi! I also experienced this issue when using the default Ctrl + Alt + F11
hotkey. Changing it to something else (Ctrl + Alt + \
in my case) fixed the issue.
I can confirm that changing the hotkey from default Ctrl + Alt + F11
to Ctrl + Alt + \
fixed the issue for me as well.
Thanks for the tip!
Might be a conflict with another software then. I know Intel Graphic also use the same combination.
