RT 5.10 is non-responsive when processing queue

Open AdamWysokinski opened this issue 11 months ago • 5 comments

I have the following issue when using RT 5.10: After sending an image to processing queue, RT becomes completely non-responsive for several seconds. I cannot switch to the next photo and switching to another application and back to RT does not show its window content. Using htop I see that RT use all available cores, but total CPU use is up to 20%, other apps running in parallel work fine. This affect the workflow significantly.

It works fine on my computer. Does it happen for every image? Does the same happen if you save the image directly, or do you have auto-start disabled? Could you provide a pp3?

Thanks! It happens for every image. PP3 attached, but I think it is not related, I've been trying to trace whether any specific processing option triggers it, with no success. However, disabling the auto-start and starting processing the queue manually seems to help - there is no freezing! Moreover, it seems that it keeps working fine even if I have re-enabled auto-start. I'll investigate and let you know.

Interesting. I look forward to your findings.

Ok, here are the results of my little investigation: when I disable auto-start, sending files to queue for processing works fine. However, when I run the queue manually, freezing returns. After completing the queue, freezing disappears and returns after starting another queue. I'm on Debian Testing, RT from Debian packages.

So manually starting the queue no longer helps. Can you think of any differences between your investigation and when it was not freezing?
