Would you recommend this plugin still?

Hello, I'm wondering if this plugin would be advisable with its current state and considering the current state of picturefill itself. Also are there any other solutions for running picturefill on background images?

Currently, I don't know any other solution. This solution works fine

Thanks for the good work. Do you guys know how many browsers support this code without issues?

I'm a bit surprised this is repo is not more popular. I've googled for a while and could not find anything else. Maybe once the object-fit property becomes more popular we will be able to use picturefill again.

@sebastienbarre I think it works with the majority of the browsers. Our new React projects doesn't need this anymore, we use a specific component to manage background image.

@fdubost thanks. Out of curiosity, would you mind sharing what you are doing with React.js in this context? Thank you

@sebastienbarre not yet but I would like to make open source some of our React components, particularly for images management. I hope we will do that in 2017 😉
