Does your backlight was turned on during dump? Can you disable/change level it and make a new dump? For now, looks like it is possible to control backlight levels, but I need to prove it
When the laptop (MSI GE76) powers on, the keyboard backlight LEDs are on at whatever was the last color scheme configured from the Win10 SteelSeries Engine application. When grub/lilo starts the LEDs turn off. When the kernel is loaded the LEDs flash briefly, then remain off. I have used various applications (msi-ec,msi-perkeyrgb, MSIKLM and a few others) some of which flash the keyboard briefly, but do not turn on the LEDs. I have noticed that one or two of these applications will actually set the color (when I reboot, the new color scheme is visible), however the LEDs remain dark. Usually the EC needs to be reset before I can access the keyboard. I'm not sure how you want me to change the backlights, but I'll be happy to do so.
I meant that some models have a dedicated key on the keyboard to change brightness, but probably you don't have that one, if I understood correctly
Ah, I have those keys, yes.
However I haven't gotten them working.
But they work on Windows? Can you check is these keys are still working in BIOS after checking its behavior on Windows?
I found an issue which mention similar model https://gitlab.com/CalcProgrammer1/OpenRGB/-/issues/3960
