Issue in iOS when using the TeamTalk5 app

Open michael1994bot opened this issue 4 months ago • 4 comments

Description

when using the TeamTalk5 app on iOS when the user has voice preprocessing enabled and preferences there is major major loop in or feedback this used to not occur in the previous version of the app however this seems to be persistent issue ever since the new iOS update came out this year

Application

  • [ ] qtTeamTalk
  • [ ] TeamTalkAndroid
  • [x] iTeamTalk
  • [ ] TeamTalkClassic
  • [ ] TeamTalkServer

Platform

  • [ ] Windows
  • [ ] macOS
  • [ ] Android
  • [x] iOS
  • [ ] Linux

Expected behavior

so when the user has a voice preprocessing enabled what's supposed to happen is all feedback in or looping is supposed to stop and the user is able to successfully have an open microphone what is that internal or external and no feedback is going on

Actual behavior

so when the user has voice preprocessing enabled on the teamtalk app and the usual does not have headphones or any external input device and it's just relying on their phones speaker there's a major feedback coming from the app

Steps to reproduce problem

so I have tried closing the TeamTalk5 app and checking all my settings to make sure everything was correct and unfortunately I have not gotten any change in the app and with the issue that I have described with the feedback the results still remain the same

I'm not sure if updating WebRTC will fix this issue. @bear101, could you please update WebRTC?

This issue is related to audio routing in the iOS app. It is not related to WebRTC.

Hi, My friends and I are experiencing this issue as well. We are all running the latest versions of both iOS and the app. When we turn on voice processing, the microphone starts behaving strangely. Echo cancellation does not work, and voices sound very tinny, as if they've been high-passed. We also tried switching the global iOS microphone profiles, but unfortunately there is currently no way to use TT on speaker. Any audio coming from the speaker is always picked up. Is there any way to fix this, or is it an iOS limitation? Thanks for any help or guidance.

HM, I want to test my iTeamTalk source, but got an error.
