I've been working on implementing this as a plugin (although it is largely incomplete as of now). Curious to see how the official implementation would look like!
Just discovered this while trying to use a S3-compatible provider without proper ACL support. It essentially makes ListObjectsV2 unusable due to a `NotImplemented` error.
