As a workaround you can place the `{% show_menu %}` tag inside another tag that does actually push a new context, like a `{% block %}` or `{% with %}`...

It is a bug report, how can it go stale if it hasn't been addressed by anyone?

As this is a logging module for reporting purposes I thought it'd be unlikely you'd add or modify records.
