Future of this project / Documentation

I am wondering if this is still being actively worked on, or if the interest in it is still there. I have been tinkering with it for a few months here and there and looking at the original exe in a decompiler labeling functions that are most likely important to the project, and just generally looking at the differences between c3 and Pharaoh.

I'd love to contribute, if even just for fun, if there is still interest in a potential life for this project.

Also looking for any documentation that may not be included in this repo or the ozymandias extras repo.

Thanks 8)

I only recently came across this, spurred mainly by curiosity after seeing the remake trailer, but if this gets any traction I'd love to help out and contribute what I could. Though I'm not sure how big of an impact I could make. As a self-professed "not a good coder", nearly all of my cpp knowledge comes from working on JA2 1.13 source code.

I'd also like to see this move forward, though I can understand why it's more complicated with ANE here.

dev actually replied to me on reddit a week ago or so, they actually plan on resuming work on the game soon, so I'm glad the project still active, or more like, the dev has the intention to keep it active eventually.

Also interested here. I loved Pharaoh and I'm playing C3 now using the julius engine. Works great!

If anyone is interested, there's a currently active fork of this project: https://github.com/dalerank/Akhenaten

Hey! Sorry about the lack of updates, for some reason I'm not receiving notifications of issues/tickets on Github anymore. I would have gladly responded here - but yeah essentially as was mentioned I don't want to abandon this project! I've been recently doing some more progress on documenting the engine/formats, and I've almost fully documented the .SAV format; I'm gonna push the updates soon!

I don't have any other documentation other than what I could gather and put on the "extras" repo, but I can post my Ghidra project if I'm able to. Do not hesitate to shoot me a message if you are curious about anything else! 😁 If you wanna poke me on Discord, my handle is: banderi / Banderi#3717

Thanks for the update @Banderi ! What is your plan to collaborate with the https://github.com/dalerank/Akhenaten fork?

I've been speaking with the guy for a while now, he's been really eager to continue the idea and he's been nagging me to resume work with him a lot. But at the same time he wants to do things his own way, and he is really really bad at English, which all combines into me being unable to work with him sadly. His implementation of new stuff is also completely changed from the base game so it's not compatible with mine. If I continue my work with this project I think I must keep my thing separate, maybe it would end up a similar pair of works like Julius and Augustus haha.

Still I'm glad to see all his work on it and I wish him the best!
