Suggestion: Slower cannons in water

I am noticing on the public build server that a lot of people use their submersible cannons underwater, this never occurs during the series and is unrealistic. I say that because if the minecraft atmosphere is denser, then if water can slow us to a fraction of our land speed, it is a lot denser. So my idea is to make cannons not have normal force underwater, and to make it so TNT isn't propelled as far and with the same force.

I had thought about this, but was taking a wait and see attitude. But it sounds like people are indeed starting to use it.

I could probably make it so that if it detects tnt moving in water it could drastically reduce it's speed. Say... every time it detects tnt moving in water, it cuts its speed in half.

It might be a while, I have a full plate. But it will probably get done eventually.

This will prevent only classic tnt cannons, but not Cannons plugin. We should to make some handicap for both types. Or directly disable using both types under sea level.

The ship builder part of me says I should hate this, the part of me that likes reality says I should support this, my solution: have a option in the config of how much to slow down the tnt, for example: water-tnt-slow: 0.5 would cut tnt's speed in half, and water-tnt-slow: 0.75 would only cut it by three forths

Oh, basics of math fractions, thx for the explanation :D But maybe this will be better to use, if you like reality ;) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drag_%28physics%29

mwkaicz, TNT cannons can get a lot of range, the cannons plugin cannot. Firing underwater is like a safe guard from enemy shots. But at this moment, it still gets the same range, and is an unfair advantage since it isn't even realistic.

What do you mean a lot of ? Have you tried to create custom cannons and projectiles?
