Add instructions for running the unit tests

The unit tests are massively out of date and haven't been working since I ditched the gulp build plan, somewhere around v1. If you'd like to work on them, I'm planning to update to angular v6 soon and use the angular CLI, and I can either move them across to that test system or use it as a chance for a fresh start.
