SteamVr wont open/work
SteamVr keeps on crashing or not responding whenever I open the program. I don't know how to fix this and it is really annoying me ;-; Please help
This is something I have not seen happening before. I run this application myself every VR session.
I'd need more information to be able to do anything at all about this 😅 At this point I'm not even sure where to start as it is SteamVR that is crashing, which I can't remember ever happening with this application for me 🤔 It is a fairly simple connection to the SteamVR API, mostly just listening to controller input.
Do you happen to have a system username with non-latin symbols in it or something? Are you running SteamVR with any third party runtimes, like Oculus/Meta, Pimax or Vive?
i have tried other ways and when i open the application it will not connect
Sorry I apparently do not get emails for all replies, I saw multiple threads in here which I was unaware of getting responses even if I'm subscribed.
It is way later now so you might have fixed it or moved on. But uh... I've never used a quest with airlink so not sure how that would affect things. This application is just listening to events from SteamVR and not really trying to affect it, so it should be quite safe to use.
This is happening to me except I use Virtual Desktop. I have no idea why this is crashing my SteamVR but if you found out by now, please let me know.
I THINK I FOUND THE SOLUTION! I use Virtual Desktop but if you have any way of accessing and changing/editing your desktop mid-game, then open up the game with SteamVR, wait for it to fully load, then open you stuff like OpenVR2Key and Soundpad. This isn't foolproof I'm sure but it should work.
