This bug also happens on my Windows 10 Pro (22H2). The BOINC window freezes after a few seconds of opening.
I am experiencing a similar problem, but it is not for an offline project. On Ubuntu 24.04, I am trying to add a project (Einstein). However, I purposely type the wrong password to see what the wizard window looks like.
This happens when I build a recent Master (ecc3330c0d1f3a8b79e90133b6e6b87f1cd63a3d). However, when I try this with 8.0.2 standard package (apt), there isn't a problem.
I'm not seeing any of these problems in master on Win10.
I didn't see it on Windows 10, either, but I did see it in Ubuntu. My issue may be different than the one listed here, though.
I have experienced this again, but I think in similar situation as @springfielddatarecovery. I was testing BOINC 8.2.6 with a clean installation on Windows 10. I added WCG as a project, and it said the project was added sucessfully, but the finish button in the wizard was greyed out. I stepped away for lunch, came back an hour later, and there was no change. I was able to click on the X in the upper right corner to close the window.
Enclosed is my event log for what happened, I don't see anything out of the ordinary other than the feeder server for WCG not functioning. The feeder appears to still be happening. I tried to reproduce this by removing the project and adding it again, and I was not able to repeat the problem. I even performed a clean installation and the error didn't repeat.
I can't repro this on Win 10. I don't think the feeder problem is related; that happens after the project is successfully attached.
