BOINC Notices Not Displaying

Open ddouglas87 opened this issue 1 year ago • 2 comments

Notices tab is blank, even when there are new notices.

Image Note: It shows no new notices right now, because I clicked on the tab. Before clicking on the tab it said Notices (2). There should be notices there.

System Information

  • OS: Linux OpenSUSE Tumbleweed (Rolling distro with newest everything.)
  • BOINC Version: flatpak edu.berkeley.BOINC v8.0.2, wxWidgets v3.2.5

Additional context Dark mode (as you can see in the screenshot), Cinnamon desktop environment, and Flatpak version.

Can confirm this also happens in XFCE in Linux mint in Flatpak version

This also happens in KDE Plasma (~~Wayland~~ X11) on Debian (installed via apt - Debian testing channel) with Breeze Dark theme.

Edit: It also happens with Breeze Light theme, in which case the entire "Notices" tab contents area is still black. Switching to the simple interface does not resolve the issue: the "Notices" dialog is still completely black. However, I can select text with the mouse (without visual feedback): when hovering the area the pointer changes shape and after double-clicking I can drag the text around (dragging it on a white window reveals the selected text).

Edit (2): I just realized I was running my whole desktop environment on X11. Running KDE Plasma on Wayland, I can reproduce the problem only by setting the GDK_BACKEND=x11 environment variable.
