Liven up the forums with emoticons/smileys
Is it possible to liven up the BOINC forums with its own group of emoticons/smileys built into the software? About all social media has smileys and emoticons, so why don't we?
Possibly have them at the thread title (Post icon) to show the intent of the thread, but also have them in-line in the post. Not unlike the setup at the WCG forums.
+1 for inline emoticons, they are used often. Emoticons for post title are not used often (people usually use default one), so they may be skipped.
I wouldn't object if someone else did this, but the cost/benefit is kinda high. Note: you can also add emojis manually, e.g. 😀
I have always just used my own from a collection I have just using the image/url But I am only a Cern Projects member and Einstein and at Einstein we have an extra way in posts and pm's by just putting the url to those emoticons or anything else using the Image addition at the top of a post with the usual bbcodes similar to here.
