Replace "Suppress Mid-Chamber Dialogue" stylevar with an option in the voiceline config menu

This stylevar isn't useful, since you can just disable every mid-chamber line through the configure menu.

No I really like this I would hate to have to manually check off everything

I don't think it's very useful, maybe ad "Check All" and "Uncheck All" in the configuration menu.

THAT'S WHAT THIS STYLEVAR IS

It shouldn't be a stylevar though, it should be an option somewhere else.

Not all voicelines have a configuration menu.

TheDarkBomber avatar Jan 19 '17 16:01 TheDarkBomber

Yes they do, just sometimes it's empty.

vrad-exe avatar Jan 25 '17 22:01 vrad-exe

but if it's empty, you can't edit anything. that's why it's useful.

If they're empty, that voiceline actually isn't implemented at all - that's exactly what you'd get.

Not sure what's happening with this suggestion anymore

Konclan avatar Aug 28 '19 20:08 Konclan

TeamSpen mentioned on Discord that he was considering removing Style Properties, and converting all the stylevars into itemvars which appear on the respective items. If that ends up happening, this would be needed as a replacement for the stylevar.

Just move the option under voicelines?

Konclan avatar Mar 23 '20 01:03 Konclan

Wait how would style vars like enrichment sphere work?

Konclan avatar Mar 23 '20 01:03 Konclan

Not sure.

TeamSpen210 avatar Mar 23 '20 01:03 TeamSpen210

You could probably move stylevars near the style selection option, maybe within the style picker itself. If enough individual stylevars are added(which I doubt), you could probably allow the saving of different stylevar configurations.

If Style Properties is removed, here's where every current stylevar should go:

Stylevar New Location
Multiverse Cave Voice line selector, in a new properties area at the bottom or possibly next to OK/Cancel since it's the only option like this BEE2_new_voice_options_v2
Prevent Portal Bump (Fizzler) Fizzler itemvar
Suppress Mid-Chamber Dialog Replaced by Enable/Disable All buttons in voice line config window, as suggested in this issue BEE2_new_voice_config_v2 These would appear for all tabs, not just mid-chamber lines.
Unlock Default Items Not sure, options menu maybe?
Allow Goo Mist Goo itemvar
Light Reversible Funnels Funnel itemvar
Enable Shape Framing, Door Cameras, Open Enrichment Sphere, Use P1 Gun Style selector, in a new properties area at the bottom BEE2_new_style_options_v2 Enable Shape Framing would be automatically added for styles that define signage frame textures.
Restart When Reaching Exit Compile Options pane, under a "Restart at" header BEE2_new_compile_restart When set to Elevator, the map would restart when the vote screen normally opens, or after the disassemble animations in Co-op.
Goo Debris Goo itemvar
Flickering Overgrown Funnel Funnel itemvar (or you could really just remove it, everyone hates this)

Itemvars (both existing ones and converted stylevars) would appear in the Properties tab of the redesigned context window. Honestly though, I don't really see what's wrong with Style Properties. It'd probably be good enough to just convert the item-related ones to itemvars and relocate those.
